    Paul has been involved with the media industry both in the United Kingdom and South Africa for 35 years. He came to South Africa in 1975 and because a South African citizen in 1994. He has presented to Parliament on behalf of the industry and regularly makes representations to ICASA. He has also lectured at AAA school over the years. He is currently a Board member of the ACA, and Regional Director of MediaCom Worldwide for Sub Saharan Africa

    Gordon Patterson is a man of vast industry experience. After completing an IMM diploma, he joined the Argus Group as Asst Mktg Admin Mgr and moved through the ranks. During this time he started a separate unit called the Sowetan Marketing Services. In 1987, he joined Young & Rubicam as Media Planner and was promoted to Media Mgr. Next came a stint with DMB&B/Sonnenberg Murphy Leo Burnett as Media Mgr and promoted to Associate Media Dir. In 2000 Patterson launched and was appointed MD of Starcom.

    Born 31 October 1945, attended the Parktown Boys High School and the University of Witwatersrand. I am married and have five children and nine grandchildren. From 1968 – 1982 I worked as Executive Director at Tiger Oats, then moving on to Checkers Stores as Managing Director from 1982 – 1985. I went on to the Premier Group as Managing Director from 1985 – 1995 and then as Chairman from 1995 – 1996 at Premier Foods. In 1996 I joined Caxton and CTP Publishers and Printers as Managing Director.

    Appointed Executive Director - Operations in 2002, assuming group executive role responsible for Gauteng, Cape and KZN regions. Joined the Board of Independent News & Media (Pty) Limited in 2002. Joined Independent group in 1995 as deputy editor of The Sunday Independent. In 1997 promoted to deputy editor of The Star and editor of The Saturday Star, later being promoted to General Manager and then Managing Director of Gauteng region in 1999. Serves as director on numerous boards.

    Justice Malala is general manager of Avusa¹s (formerly Johncom) stable of 56 magazines and an award-winning former newspaper editor and acclaimed magazine and newspaper columnist.Malala still writes regular weekly columns for The Times newspaper and the Financial Mail magazine. He also writes a monthly media and politics column for Empire magazine. He is the resident political analyst for independent television channel e.tv. Malala was also an executive producer on Hard Copy I and II.

    Abraham van Zyl has been in the media industry since 1976. With an editorial background, he held the position of news editor at Die Burger before he moved to the management side of the business. Previously, among others, he held the positions of general manager of Vaal Triangle Publishers in Vanderbijlpark, general manager of City Press and regional general manager of Media24 Newspapers in the south, before he assumed the role of heading up Media24’s print media office in Beijing, China. Abraham has been appointed CEO : Media24 Newspapers with effect from 1 July 2008.

    Simon Camerer joined Cell C (Pty) Ltd in March 2004 as the Group Executive Head of Marketing. Prior to joining Cell C he served as Marketing Director for the Walt Disney Company in Europe, as well as having held other Senior International Marketing and Strategy positions at Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) and Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising. Simon obtained a BA at Stellenbosch and an MBA at Thunderbird – The American Graduate School of International Management. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and a member of the American Marketing Association.

    Heidi Brauer joined Comair in January 2009 as Executive Manager - Group Marketing. Prior to joining Comair she served as Marketing Director and Deputy CEO at Markinor for 12 years. She is a member of the Vega Brand School National Advisory Council, a Board member of the Marketing Association of South Africa, as well as a member of UNISA Centre of Corporate Brand Citizenship Think Tank.
